StudioBinder allows you to create company departments and project departments, each serving different purposes. This way, you can establish a default structure for all future projects while also customizing departments for individual projects as needed. This article explains the difference between company departments and project departments.
Company departments
Company departments are established at the company level and automatically show up in all new projects. However, updates to a company department do not affect existing projects; these changes only apply to projects created afterward.
Note: If you see Company Departments at the top of your department sidebar, then you are viewing company departments.
Project departments
Project departments are exclusive to the project in which they are established. Any modifications to project departments will not influence other projects. This feature is beneficial for instances when a particular project demands a unique team structure that differs from your company's standard setup.
Note: If you see Project Departments at the top of your screen, then you are viewing project departments.
