Whats the difference between account contacts and project contacts

Learn how to distinguish between account contacts and project contacts in StudioBinder

Written by Cameron

StudioBinder organizes contacts into two categories: Account Contacts and Project Contacts. Understanding the difference can help you keep your contact database organized and make it easier to staff future productions.

Account contacts

Account contacts are saved at the account level and can be used across any project in your StudioBinder workspace. Because account contacts are centralized, any edits you make to a contact automatically update everywhere they’re used. They can only be managed by users with Admin permissions, and you’ll know you’re viewing them when you see the Contacts tab in the top toolbar.

Note: Account contacts are not automatically added to projects but can be assigned to any project as needed.

Project contacts

Since each project has its own team, Studio Binder keeps a dedicated contact database for every project via project contacts. These contacts are linked solely to their specific project and do not affect other projects. You can identify them by the Project Contacts tab in the top toolbar.

Note: When you create contacts at the project level, they are automatically added to your account contacts, and any edits made here will sync back to the account contacts.
