Learn how to view & use your version history

Written by Mark

StudioBinder's screenplay revision history saves a version of your script locally to your computer every 20 seconds, so if for any reason: accidental deletion, computer crash, etc... you can go back and recover your work.

Step 1 ⏤ Open settings

Click the more icon (⋯) in the top-right corner of your screen to open settings.

Step 2 ⏤ Open revision history

From the dropdown menu, select Revision History.

Step 3 ⏤ Open local revisions

In the revision history window, click on Local Versions.

Step 4 ⏤ Preview script

Your latest local version will be shown as a list of letters and numbers, followed by the date and title. Click this draft to preview it.

Note: Revision history is specific to each screenplay revision. If you don't see the version you're looking for, try swapping revisions and checking the revision history for each script.

Step 5 ⏤ Download script

Review your draft and confirm that this is the script you need. Then, click the more icon (⋮) in the top right corner to reveal and select Download SBX.

Note: After downloading the SBX file, you can import it back into your screenplay to recover it and continue working.
