StudioBinder allows you to create custom crew roles for your project. This is useful when a production requires positions that aren't included in the default role list, helping you organize contacts, call sheets, and production documents more accurately. Follow along to learn how!
Note: These roles will be local to the project you create them in & will not be available in any other project.
Step 1 ⎯ Open project settings
From your Project Overview page, hover over the Settings tab on the sidebar to reveal & click Departments from the project settings drop-down menu.
Step 2 ⎯ Select a department
Select the department you want to add the new role to.
Note: If you don't see the department you're looking for, you can create a custom department.
Step 3 ⎯ Add a new position
Click + New Position in the top-right corner to create a custom role.
Step 4 ⎯ Create the position
Enter the position name and short name, then click Create Position.
